EPISODE 1: FAN DUMB, MAN ASS

It all begins, like any good story, at the begining . . . however we are going to start at the end.

Right now, this is how things stand:

Now, none of this is funny, however if you take yourself lightly enough to laugh at yourself your life just seems to be a little easier to deal with.

Working backwards we find out why Lish was upset: she came for a nice visit on her vacation, not knowing that she would be a guest star on "AS THE PENTACLE TURNS". As soon as Oan walked on set, Lish was bombarded with conflicting messages. Thorn told her her side of the story and likely it was harsh seeing as Thorn is angry at Oan. Oan was dumbfounded at Lish's reaction as she thought that things were going better-apparently not so. Lish wanted to make her own choice as to whether or not Oan was a good person so she gave Oan a chance. Oan was very glad that Lish gave her a chance because she likes Lish and never wanted to make anyone angry in the first place. Also, Oan likes Thorn, despite the fact that Thorn is so angry at her and claims that Oan is the cause for the destruction of everything beautiful in Thorn's life. Oan left before Lisa and Lorr got home from work, so she doesn't know exactly what happened, and to keep as close to the truth as possible she can only speculate here: Thorn found out that Lish had talked to Oan and did not think that Oan was the Devil, Thorn provided more testimony for the Inquisition. Nala, because she likes Oan, defended Oan, which confused and upset Lish because she loves both Thorn and Nala and feels torn. Oan found out about Lish being upset through a phone call and it all just made her even more confuzzled.

All of this made Oan more confuzzled for many reasons. First of all, Oan never wanted to make anyone angry. Secondly, Oan isn't entirely sure what it is that she did that makes Thron feel so angry. She did, as accused, have an emotional involvement with Lorr. (and made googlie eyes at him and kissed him a couple of times) She did not, however, do anything that was aimed at causing Thorn pain. Oan's relationship with Lorr was that of two writers, poets, muses inspiring each other with art and prose and poetry (with some "I think you're hot" conversations tossed in). Connecting with each other and sharing thoughts and feelings. The total time and energy spent on these activities could never compare to what Thorn and Lorr share on a daily basis so Oan is completely dumbfounded at how Thorn can feel so insecure about the time spent on it. Oan understands that she doesn't see what happens when she is not there and has no idea what is going on between the two of them most of the time, she had assumed (Thorn you are so right, assumptions are the mother of all fuck-ups) that Thorn and Lorr's relationship was stable, or at least as stable as Lorr allowed Oan to believe by telling Oan that "Thorn isn't jealous". Oan really does feel bad that Thorn is unhappy, but she doesn't know how she can help because it seems like everything that she does or says just makes it worse. Oan feels like nothing she could ever say or could have said would make things ok.

More to come when AS THE PENTACLE TURNS continues . . .
